Sunshine Coast is the meaning of leisure
There are some places that when you get to will just relax your body, your mind, and bring out a little of the nature-induced spiritual side in you. Sometimes you can find nature’s caressing touch even in inhabited areas, and the
Sunshine
Coast is one of those places. In fact, that is probably why the population is booming in the area.
There is something about the breeze, the surf, and the sky that melt into each other to caress all the stress off of your physical being. But the
Sun
Coast is not just sand and surf. Their sandy counterparts unfairly overshadow the charming hills by the coast. Little hill towns like Maleny and Montville are not only a spiritually invigorating and relaxing drive from the coast, but with intermittent dairy farms and wineries on the way, and the rolling hills designed to immensely please the visual senses, you will be assured that all the stress burdened upon you by the city life and work life will be blown away like sand by the wind. All the different locales provide different atmospheres on the
Sunshine
Coast:
Caloundra
Caloundra represents the
Sunshine
Coast in its original form, even though it is more populated now. Caloundra attracts a lot of tourists looking for the laid back beach atmosphere. The visitors and the residents of Caloundra come in all age categories. The boardwalk by the beach is a pleasant walk and epitomizes the relaxing atmosphere of the coast. The beach is not as crowded as Moloolooba or as lined up by as many cafes and restaurants but it has a peaceful family-oriented park and a lagoon. It is a popular spot for a lot of kite-surfers and surfers as well as people looking for a relaxing day out on the beach.
Moloolooba
Moloolooba is a comparatively busy beach. It is the most popular beach on the
Sunshine
Coast and is a good place for people who like lively beach atmosphere. Moloolooba also boasts numerous cafes, bars, and restaurants beachside, which are never empty. For those seeking some nightlife, Moloolooba is the best place to find it. At night, it comes alive with students, tourists, and the locals.
Maroochydore
Maroochydore is the center of the
Sunshine
Coast in many ways. The
Sunshine
Plaza is located here and is a big shopping attraction. Moreover, there are a lot of good restaurants scattered around, with variety not in scarcity. You can have Indian, Thai, Italian, or just your regular Australian, with choices. This is also where a lot of tourists choose to stay, as it is a good starting point. It lies between the Caloundra/Moloolooba and the Coolum/Noosa areas. All the close by beaches and aforementioned towns are only a short hop away, on the local bus, or in your own car. Most of the
Sunshine
Coast accommodation for holiday revelers is located here as well, including the Catalina Resort.
Noosa
Noosa is the high-end shopping and dining area with an enchanting national park. A walk through the park, which is mostly jungle, is a good holiday experience. The walk through the jungle leads you to pristine beaches that can only be accessed through the long park walkways making them less crowded and more private. The beaches are quite splendid and it is quite easy to just spend a large chunk of your day just relaxing on the beach with the uninterrupted sound of the ocean. Or you can spend your whole day in the Noosa central area, which is always buzzing with tourists and residents alike.
Maleny and
Montville
This is the hilly part of the
Sunshine
Coast. The drive to one of these towns from the coast is quite simply enthralling. There are a lot of twists and turns, but ones that you will surely enjoy. To add on to the peace of mind that naturally comes from the atmosphere, there is also a Buddhist sanctuary type area where tourists and residents go to spend a tranquil hour or two. There are also a few wineries dispersed along the way.
Montville is an enchanting town where a lot of tourists choose to have lunch with a view of the rolling hills and the far-away coast, which is a rare experience indeed. Splendid views of large rocks of the
Sunshine
Coast can also be seen from the roadway and designated viewing areas.
The
Sunshine
Coast is all that has been described above and a lot more. It is a relaxing, yet, at the same time, very engaging edge of the Australian continent. Holidays in the Sunshine coast, no matter what time of year, will enliven the spirit and breathe some fresh air into any mundane schedule-based life that all of us are bound by. See you where the sun is! |
